The
same shaping concept that was applied to traditional CD Roms
was then applied to the mini round 80mm CD. Most of the capacity
of a disk goes unsued so the prevailing way of thinking was
to cut off the excess capacity to make the disk smaller. Out
of this practice evolved the oval shaped CD. Businesses began
to use the oval CD and this became the new defacto standard.
Out of a need to remain competitive we were able to patent a
stabilization ring that allows regular shaped CDs to ride on
the 80mm inner ring of a tray loading CD Rom. |
